I create abstract compositions from recyclable materials — recycled paper, plastic bottles, crushed cans, computers wrapped in plastic or dryer vents—become vehicles for shape, color, space, and light. I employ monumental scale, all-over composition, and gestures that assert the surface of the paintings. Up-close these works painted in oil on linen or canvas, seem to be merely flecks of paint, but from a distance appear photo-realistic.
